The Church of St. John the Righteous is an integral part of the “Ioanniv Center” Charitable Organization’s rehabilitation center for children with disabilities
He is very young: he was ordained on December 15, 2020, a year full of surprises and twists and turns. Despite all the difficulties, the church continues to operate and care for those in need of spiritual guidance.
Joint services are held at our church every Sunday and on all the Twelve Great Feasts.
There are a number of factors that make our church unique in its own way.
Our doors are open to people with disabilities—the building has wheelchair-accessible entry and handrails to assist with mobility inside. We also have a small library of Braille materials: the Gospel of Matthew and the Old and New Testaments in adapted versions. We also have our own sign language interpreter—Father Yevhen Babenko, who conducts Sunday services with sign language interpretation once a month.
Future plans:
One of our strengths is our warm, friendly atmosphere and our caring attitude toward children. For example, the mascot for one of our carnivals is a toy lamb named Sean, who is sure to be a hit with our young parishioners.>
Future plans:
At our church, you’re always welcome to take a seat if you’re tired—we have nice, comfortable chairs. In addition, the center has a coat check and a restroom equipped with everything you need, which people with disabilities can use with ease.
Our church organizes pilgrimage trips for parishioners and for families raising children with disabilities
And this is only a small part of what is interesting!
Let's do good deeds together! Let's walk towards the Lord together!
