Friends, today we want to introduce you to Sveta, who has achieved great success in our Center. When Sveta came to us at the Center, she could not walk. Dad brought her to our Center in his arms.
The misfortune happened to Sveta on April 22, 2021 during a serious accident. Sveta managed to survive, despite the severity of her condition, significant injuries and a poor prognosis. She came to us 2 months after a car accident. Sveta could move in a wheelchair not on her own, but with the help of her mother. She had big memory problems, she practically did not remember anything, and remembered new information only for a certain period. Therefore, all attempts to learn something new, even if she succeeded, were immediately forgotten literally the next day. This required a special approach from our physical therapists, as having achieved one goal, they thought to move on, but the next day they had to return and start all over again.
At the very beginning of the rehabilitation course, physical therapists put Sveta in a walker and these were her first steps after that accident. As soon as Sveta told her not to be afraid, and showed her that she already did it yesterday, she immediately succeeded. It also helped that her small achievements were filmed, which inspired Sveta and gave her self-confidence.
Work was carried out on the restoration of lost skills. During the first week, physical therapists worked on flipping, getting on all fours, crawling, standing, and standing up on a special parapodium. Given the multidisciplinary approach at the Center, psychologists and ergotherapists have joined in Sveta’s rehabilitation. An individual rehabilitation program was developed, thanks to which, at the end of the week, the girl could perform all tasks.
At the end of rehabilitation, Sveta walked on her own. Parents gave the girl new sneakers. And at home she was met by all relatives with friends and classmates. And everyone was very happy that she began to recover so quickly.
For complete rehabilitation, Sveta needed two more courses with an interval of one month. She tried very hard and as a result, on September 1, she returned to school in her class.
This active cheerful girl has gone through a lot and is an example of perseverance, endurance and hard work not only for children, but also for many adults.
