December 3 is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Today was established by the UN General Assembly in 1992 with the aim of calling on all states to continuously integrate people with disabilities into society.

There are about 3 million people with disabilities in Ukraine. About 200,000 of them are children.

Today is not a holiday, but a reminder of equal rights, of accessibility, of opportunities, of dignity, of tolerance, of humanity.

Not a disabled person, but a child with a disability who has the right to a childhood without any restrictions because he or she does not have a childhood disability.
A child who has the right to study and socialize, the right to be in a team of peers – to learn to make friends and explore this wonderful world.
A child who has the right to be happy, like each of us.

Indifference is what helps others feel seen. It is important to remember this not only today, but every day.

Let’s be tolerant and considerate of each other.
