Social rehabilitation for children

Social rehabilitation of children is a complex of measures aimed at the restoration and development of psychophysical, social and spiritual functions of children who have experienced the negative influence of social factors.

The goal of social rehabilitation of children is:

  • restoration and preservation of children’s health;
  • assistance in their comprehensive development;
  • adaptation of children to life in society;
  • prevention of the risk of repeated exposure of children to adverse conditions.

Social rehabilitation of children is carried out on the basis of the following principles:

  • the priority of the child’s interests;
  • availability;
  • complexities;
  • individual approach;
  • cooperation with parents or legal representatives of the child.

The main tasks of social rehabilitation of children:

  • provision of medical, psychological, social and pedagogical assistance to children;
  • assistance in the development of self-service, self-control and self-defense skills;
  • formation of positive life values and attitudes;
  • preparing children for independent life in society.

Social rehabilitation of children is carried out in different forms, in particular:

  • individual and group classes with a psychologist, teacher, social worker;
  • participation in cultural and mass events;
  • involvement in volunteer activities.

Social rehabilitation is an important component of the social protection system for children. It promotes the creation of conditions for the full-fledged development of children who have been negatively affected by social factors, and their successful adaptation to life in society.
